If it has been a while since you checked the Grady’s blog, a few things have changed around here!
On September 1, 2026, we officially became the new owners of Grady’s Feet Essentials. We’re Theresa Thibadeau and Mark Walsh, and while ownership may be new for us, Grady’s certainly isn’t.
Theresa has been part of the Grady’s team for more than 13 years, including several years as store manager. Her background also includes accounting, personal income tax and many years of customer service. After spending so much time working with the Grady’s team, customers and products, becoming a business owner felt like a natural next step.
Mark comes to Grady’s after many years of service at Ventra Plastics and has quickly become a familiar face around the store. His easy rapport with customers has made the transition into retail a natural one. Something our customers are already discovering.
He’s also putting his hands-on skills to work with Birkenstock repairs. We can now help with sole replacement, cracked or missing cork, and re-gluing straps, depending on the condition of the footwear.
Taking over a business that has been part of Peterborough since 1984 comes with a real appreciation for everything that has been built over the past four decades. Grady’s has longstanding relationships with generations of customers, and personal service, footwear knowledge and helping people find the right fit have always been an important part of the store.
Those things aren’t changing.
But that doesn’t mean we plan to stand still.
We’re excited about bringing our own ideas and experiences to Grady’s, discovering new products, continuing to learn, and finding new ways to serve our customers. We’re also looking forward to sharing a little more of what happens behind the scenes - including new arrivals, footwear information, repairs, and probably the occasional glimpse of what life is really like when you own a shoe store.
Most of all, we’re grateful for the support we’ve received as we begin this next chapter. Whether you’ve been coming to Grady’s for decades or have only recently discovered us, we’re looking forward to what comes next.
